Graduation venues - Section contents
Graduation ceremonies for the University of Melbourne are held at Wilson Hall on the Parkville campus and at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens.
To check the venue for your ceremony refer to the Graduation day schedule or your graduation invitation.
Wilson Hall is in the centre of the University’s Parkville campus.
If your ceremony is at Wilson Hall, free parking is available at University Square and Eastern Precinct car park. This service is available two hours prior to the ceremony and two hours following. For alternative options, find out more about parking on campus.
If you have a guest with mobility access requirements (and they are not driving), we suggest they disembark at the Wilson Hall roundabout, which can be accessed via the Grattan Street (Gate 10) entrance, so they have immediate access to the ramp leading to the MacFarland Court/Wilson Hall/Union House level.
Royal Exhibition Building
The Royal Exhibition Building at Carlton Gardens is a 15-20 minute walk from the Parkville campus.
The venue is well serviced by public transport, with numerous options available including trams, trains and buses (refer to the map for detailed information). If you’re driving, you may wish to park opposite the venue at Melbourne Museum.
Find out more about parking and public transport options.
Please use the East Entrance (Nicholson Street entrance side, see map) if someone in your party has mobility access requirements and needs to be dropped off as close as possible to the venue. A security staff member will be at this entrance and will open the boom gate for your vehicle to enter. Lifts are also available for graduands and guests with mobility requirements.
