Help shape the student experience at the University by coming up with an innovative idea.
Share your idea
Melbourne Ideas is a competition inviting you to submit an idea that addresses this year’s theme ‘The Student Experience – Towards Greater Inclusion’. Come up with an idea that improves an aspect of the student experience and encourages greater inclusion within our University community. You can submit as many ideas as you want!
If your idea is shortlisted, you will have the opportunity to attend an ‘Idea Incubator’ - an innovative workshop designed to help consolidate your idea and receive one-on-one coaching.
Stages of the program
|1 August 2017||Submission for ideas opens|
|1 September 2017||Submission for ideas closes 11.59pm|
|13–15 September 2017||15 ideas will be shortlisted and students who submitted a shortlisted idea will be invited to attend an Idea Incubator workshop that allows for, innovative design thinking so ideas can evolve into implementable projects. Students will also receive one-on-one coaching sessions to further consolidate their ideas.|
|5 October 2017||A further 5 ideas will be selected to advance to the Pitch Event. The Pitch Event will give students the opportunity to pitch their idea to entrepreneurs, university executives and student representatives.|
The winning idea will receive $5,000 towards their personal or professional development
Runner up idea: $2,500 towards your personal or professional development*.
Other finalists: $1,000 towards your personal or professional development*.

* Condition – prizes
The dollar amount should be viewed as funding. It must be put towards a specific professional or personal development goal. For example, you could apply to put this money towards a conference or workshop that is relevant to your idea or your career aspirations.
