Following a writing process

Taking a process approach to writing helps you to break your assignment down into manageable chunks and meet the expectations of your markers.

Following a writing process involves taking a step-by-step approach to producing written work, including task analysis, research, structuring your argument and paper, writing/drafting, and editing/proofreading. Each stage generally informs the next, although it may not be an entirely linear process and you may revisit certain steps, such as research or planning.
