Reading strategies

Learn different strategies you can use to read at an optimal speed, while still maintaining comprehension. Designed for students who have lots of readings.

The amount of reading you need to do at university can be time-consuming. You are generally expected to complete required and recommended weekly reading, as well as reading for assignments, for all of your subjects.

What you are expected to read at uni can also be complex and demanding. Remember that comprehension, or the understanding of difficult material, always takes time so don’t feel too anxious if at the start of semester you only understand around 60% of what you are reading.

Learning to identify and apply appropriate reading strategies will not only improve your efficiency and comprehension, but also help you in meeting the demands and complexity of your courses and content.
