There are so many things I love about Melbourne. I love the weather, food, shopping malls, fashion, multicultural environment, festivals and events. But what I love most is people’s positive attitude to excel in life. Whether it be busking on the streets, trading in the stock market or studying at university, Melbournians always look at innovative ways to improve their life and the lives of those around them. I really admire that.

It was hard when I first came to Melbourne in January 2018. Trying to understand how the transport works in a metropolitan city was frustrating and applying for housing was stressful. But as with all things in life, I got used to life in Melbourne once I secured an accommodation. Then I realised how convenient and safe the city was.

There a so many great things about living and studying in Melbourne, such as the delicious food, great nightlife, iconic tourist destinations, many shopping centres and the list goes on. But what I value most is the peace and freedom just to be. I can go home late after school, shopping or a day out with friends as the buses, trains and trams operate into the night.

When it comes to studying, information is always at my fingertips. The University of Melbourne’s advanced technology makes information gathering and sharing easy. There is great support and technical expertise; staff are easily accessible and readily available to lend a helping hand.

A great highlight of studying in Melbourne for me is the highly qualified lecturers and students, both domestic and international, who I got to meet. I am always amazed at the esteemed professors whom I have had the pleasure of learning from. I’ve been able to establish relationships with colleagues from around the world. It's been such a wonderful experience for me and I would recommend people I know to study in Melbourne if they have the opportunity.

I say to just go for it; you’d be missing out on new levels of opportunities if you didn't. I'm grateful every day that I am studying my postgraduate degree in Melbourne, there is no place I'd rather be.
