Step 4: Enrol in your subjects

You can enrol in your subject(s) online.

Your subject(s) have been automatically loaded into your Study Plan. Once you have completed the administrative enrolment, you can go ahead and enrol via your Study Plan.

If you change your mind later on, that’s okay. You will be able to make changes before your subjects' census dates via your my.unimelb account.

Enrol in your subjects

If you are having trouble enrolling in subject(s), please submit an Enrolment Assistance form.

Subject delivery

From Semester 2, 2023 most subjects will be taught on campus.

You can find the delivery mode for your subjects in the subject listing of the Handbook which is the source of truth for your course and subject information. Find out more about subject delivery modes.

Check the census dates for each subject

When you enrol in subjects, it’s important to know the census dates for all of your subjects. The subject census date is the date by which you can make changes to subjects without remaining liable to pay for them.

After you’ve enrolled in your subjects, check your subject census dates and payment due dates via your Statement of Liability, which can be accessed through your my.unimelb account. You can also review census dates by checking the subject entry in the Handbook.

If you want to withdraw from a subject, you should withdraw by the census date. If you withdraw after the census date you will still be required to pay for the subject.

Fees

An invoice will be issued via email to your University email account before each payment due date. It’s important to check your University email account twice a week as a minimum requirement. You can also check you unpaid fees at any time by accessing your Statement of Liability.

More information about fees, invoices and the Statement of Liability is available on our understanding your fees page.

FEE-HELP or HECS-HELP

Fee assistance such as FEE-HELP or HECS-HELP is not available for students enrolled in the Community Access Program. It is only available for students enrolled in enabling studies.

Eligible students intending to apply for FEE-HELP or HECS-HELP must do so by their first subject census date or payment due date (whichever is earlier).

If you apply after a subject census date, you will be required to pay the University up-front for that subject.
