Congratulations! If you have completed your enrolment, chosen your subjects and created your timetable, it’s time to get involved in Orientation!
Orientation runs from Monday 18 February – Friday 1 March 2019. You are strongly encouraged to attend as many Orientation activities as is possible because the sessions, workshops, and activities are designed to prepare you for studying your course at the University and help you make friends and settle into University life. Some sessions are compulsory for your course, so please check your faculty website for further information.
Orientation is a chance for you to:
- Discover and access a range of activities, events and information sessions for you to get ready for uni.
- Participate in workshops, connect with students and staff, build your skills, and engage with clubs at the University of Melbourne Student Union (UMSU) carnival and the Graduate Student Association (GSA) Welcome Day.
- Get advice on enrolment and course planning, pick up study skills, manage your health and wellbeing, and learn about housing and finance services.

Improve your English language skills
The Diagnostic English Language Assessment (DELA) gives you the opportunity to identify academic language skills that may need further development in order for you to do as well as possible in your studies. You will be contacted directly if you are required to take DELA.
