Anxiety, depression and stress can affect all of us at different times in our lives. Below are resources to help you get through these periods and counselling information if you would like to speak with someone about how you’re feeling.

University can be a challenging time and it’s important to look after your mental wellbeing. Feelings of anxiety, depression and stress can occur while you’re busy finishing off assignments, preparing for exams and trying to fit in study for all of your subjects.

There are a number of support services and workshops are run throughout the year to learn techniques that will help minimise anxiety and stress. There are also a range of resources available to help you with the following:

  • Anxiety: If you’re feeling anxious about exams, try and manage it through the University’s applied relaxation training or mindfulness practice.
  • Depression: If you’re feeling prolonged negativity over the course of semester, you may be exhibiting signs or symptoms of depression.
  • Stress management: Find out more about managing stress, even making it your friend!

Counselling and Psychological Services have a free counselling service available to any enrolled student or staff member. Remember that you are never alone and there is always someone you can talk to.
