Live Projects for international students - Section contents

Live Projects offers international students the opportunity to take part in a 3 week business consulting project designed and supported by industry partners including business and community organisations.

Live Projects is open to undergraduate international students in their second or later year of study, and all postgraduate international students in their second or later semester of study.

Be part of this exciting opportunity and gain valuable experience including:

  • developing employability skills
  • work in a dynamic team with a range of skills and perspective on ‘real-world’ business challenges
  • learn to develop a business case and pitch your ideas to a client
  • collaborate with students from different universities across Melbourne
  • be supported by an industry mentor.

Eligibility

In order to apply for Live Projects, you need to be:

  • A currently enrolled international student at the University (Not an Australian permanent resident)
  • Either an undergraduate student in your second YEAR or above (have successfully completed at least 100 UoM credit points), or a postgraduate student in your second SEMESTER of study or above (have successfully completed at least 37.5 UoM credit points)
  • In academic good standing (not currently 'At Risk')

You cannot apply for Live Projects if you've participated in the program in the past.

Participation

Applicants need to ensure they are available to attend the following compulsory stages to be considered for the 2019 November Intake 8 and 2020 February Intake 9 of Live Projects.

Please note students are only allowed to apply for either Intake 8 OR Intake 9 and cannot be considered for both intakes.

2019 November Intake 8:

  • the Assessment Centres (from Monday 23 September to Tuesday 8 October 2019)
  • Intake 8 Study Melbourne Orientation Session (Tuesday 19 November or Wednesday 20 November 2019)
  • Intake 8 Program from Monday 25 November 2019 and Friday 13 December 2019
  • Intake 8 Debrief Workshop w/b Monday 16 December 2019

2020 February Intake 9:

  • the Assessment Centres (from Monday 23 September to Tuesday 8 October 2019)
  • Intake 9 Study Melbourne Orientation Session (Tuesday 4 February 2020)
