The 2,500-square-meter Student Pavilion will be the Precinct’s ‘Neighbourhood’ building, with visible and inviting social, retail and informal study spaces creating a key social space for student life on campus.
The building will boast natural materials, bright daylit spaces, a strong relationship to the outdoors, and casual hang-out areas both inside and outside of the building.
Built-in seating will extend from Monash Road through the building to the Precinct landscape, reinforcing accessibility and amplifying the landscape
A garden lounge space on level two will also include food options, designed to open up in warm weather and bring visible activity and student life to Monash Road and the Precinct.
The upper levels three and four will boast double-height study spaces and the new Rowden White Library, timber-clad to create a casual warm setting with extended views through the treetops of the new Precinct landscape. The rooftop space will host a student kitchen which doubles as an event venue, as well as study spaces that open to an outdoor green sustainable retreat on Campus.
