SUBMISSIONS CLOSED - Compass Rose | Psychogeography of Campus Art Exhibition
What do you miss from being present with peers in classrooms, seeing faces rather than interfaces, the unexpected encounters of the physical and intellectual landscapes of campus?
Please note: Submissions are now closed and the selection process is underway. Successful entrants will be notified in the coming weeks.
The University of Melbourne’s New Student Precinct project, together with curatorial partner Next Wave, present Compass Rose - an exhibition of visual art and creative writing exploring the psychology of campus architecture through an interactive digital map and online exhibition.
We are inviting students to tell us about the associations and sensations that emerge as they drift through their memories or imaginings of campus.
We are looking for creative reflections in the form of memories, dreams, nostalgia, mythology, history, politics and poetics of space. We are looking for media that can be presented online such as poetry, creative writing, video, sound, digital art, illustration and photography.
Selected student artists will be provided with technical and editorial support, access to three free creative writing and art making workshops, and paid $350 to further develop their work.
