The Growroom and UniCycle Launch

As part of an activation program to enliven the New Student Precinct the Growroom and UniCycle were launched in late August.

Both initiatives were made possible through successful Student Services and Amenities Fee grants, jointly applied for by the New Student Precinct project team and partnering students.

The Fair Food UniCycle is a mobile cargo-bike designed to make fair and sustainable on-campus catering and cooking easier, whilst also providing opportunities for food education, skills development and outreach programs for students and the broader community.

Now in full operation, the UniCycle is available for hire (free of charge) complete with reusable cups, plates, bowls and cutlery to support your next campus event. Details on how to book the bike can be found here.

The Growroom is an immersive, vertical garden structure that was constructed as part of a collaborative build by students in early semester 2. Located outside of the Frank Tate Building, this 2.6m metre high, spherical-shaped edible garden has interior seating that invites students and staff to meet and relax in its leafy surrounds. In October, our newest activation Precinct Pedal Projections will hit the campus offering students and staff a projector and sound system on wheels to up the tempo of their next campus event.  Stay tuned – literally!
