Derisking the NSP Mainworks

This postgraduate engineering subject asked students to prepare a Project Plan to de-risk the main construction phase of the project. The class assumed the completion of Early Works in the New Student Precinct site, and that the start of the main contractor tendering phase had commenced. The NSP Project Team provided project documentation to the class, presented to the students and facilitated a site tour.

Nilupa Herath is a senior tutor and research fellow at the University of Melbourne. She has worked in the civil/structural engineering industry for 14 years in various roles. As well as contributing to a variety of research projects at the University of Melbourne, she is a qualified structural engineer who has experience in planning, design and construction management.

Dr Felix Hui is a senior lecturer in Engineering Management an an Academic Specialist in the Department of Infrastructure Engineering. He is the academic coordinator for the Master of Engineering Management program at the University of Melbourne. Felix has over 25 years of experience in the managing ongoing projects, factories and business units.
