The design task for this master’s thesis studio focused on researching about, and then designing for how students make and use space in a new university campus environment in the form of a student facility. Using the New Student Precinct Project as a case study for user-centred design, the NSP Project Team and lead architect presented to the class and provided feedback to students during studio crit sessions to inform the developing designs and strategies for student works.

Hans van Rijnberk is an urban designer, architect and teacher. He has worked as an urban designer for Wolfdene, Urbis and SMEC Urban. Hans is currently a studeio leader with the Melbourne School of Design Architecture Graduate Studio.
