Validate your vaccination information

How to validate your vaccination information

COVID-19 vaccination (or a valid exemption) is a requirement for anyone attending our campuses to minimise the risk of COVID-19 to our community.

Validate your vaccination information

Before coming to campus you need to provide evidence of your vaccination status (whether you are fully vaccinated or hold a valid exemption), and complete the COVIDSafe module and health declaration in the LMS. You only need to validate your status and complete the COVIDSafe module and health declaration once. If you have already validated your status with the University, you don't need to do it again. For more information visit attending campus.

Refer to the help guides below for instructions on how to download your certificate and submit your vaccination information.

If you do not validate your vaccination information you will not be able to attend classes or activities on campus. This could have implications for your academic progress, so it is important to validate your status as soon as possible.

International students

1. Before you depart your home country (if possible)

Organise your vaccination certificate/s from the country in which you received your vaccines. The documents must be in English and include:

  • The vaccine brand provided
  • Batch number(s)
  • Dates of vaccine administration.

2. After you arrive in Australia

You must submit your Australian Travel Declaration Form and your International COVID Vaccine certificate to validate your vaccination information.

For a list of recognised vaccines, visit the Australian Government’s vaccinated travellers website. Please visit this comprehensive guide of what to do if you received your vaccine outside of Australia.

If you need to attend campus in the meantime, please visit Stop 1 at Parkville for support.

3. Before you attend campus for the first time

Once you’ve validated your vaccination information and before coming to campus for the first time, remember to also complete the COVIDSafe module and health declaration in the LMS. To find out more, visit attending campus.

We also strongly recommend you apply for an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) as soon as you arrive in Australia.

To apply:

  1. Upload a certified copy of your passport and use your name exactly as it appears on your passport.
  2. Prepare your documents. You will need:
    1. Your vaccination certificate/s from the country in which you received your vaccines. The documents must be in English and include the vaccine brand provided, batch number(s), dates of vaccine administration.
    2. Your passport to confirm your identity.
  3. Book an appointment to verify your documents. Once you have received your IHI and have your documents ready, book an appointment with the University’s Health Service to verify your documents. If you are unable to book an appointment with the University’s Health Service, you can make an appointment with another General Practitioner (GP). When you book, request an appointment to have your international vaccines uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). At your appointment, your documents will be verified. If your IHI is available, your recognised COVID-19 vaccine information will be uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
  4. Download your Australian COVID-19 digital certificate
  5. Add your COVID-19 digital certificate to the Service Victoria app. This will speed up QR check-ins on campus and throughout Victoria.

Not fully vaccinated yet?

If you are not fully vaccinated yet, organise your second vaccination for the earliest advisable distance from your first dose. More information, including how to book an appointment, is available on the Victorian Government's coronavirus website.

The University's Health Service is also a vaccination clinic. If you are an existing patient at the Health Service, you can book online. If you are not and existing patient, you can call (03) 8344 6904 to book your appointment.
