  • Can the University arrange a travel exemption since I have a scholarship?

If you are waiting to travel to Australia to commence or resume your studies on-campus, please note that Australian Government restrictions prohibit non-Australian citizens travelling to Australia at this time. We continue to follow the advice of the Victorian and Australian Governments regarding travel restrictions into and out of Australia.

Unfortunately, we are not able to facilitate any travel exemptions. We recommend you continue to monitor the Department of Home Affairs website for further Government advice. We will contact you as soon as we know more about the possibility of travel to Australia to commence or resume your studies on-campus.

  • Why is the University increasing tuition fees in 2022 when it is unclear whether I can study on campus?

The University made the decision to hold tuition fees for international students and domestic fee-paying students in 2021 at the same level as our 2020 tuition fees, to provide some assistance and enable more students to continue their studies. Our commitment for 2021 is to support students through our expanded $87 million scholarships program.

It’s important to note that our financial aid service can provide support and advice to students facing financial hardship and students may also seek approval for a payment plan to assist with the payment of fees.

While the mode of delivery may be different, we continue to uphold the academic integrity and quality of our curriculum. Whether students are studying online or on campus, the value of a fully accredited University of Melbourne degree has not changed. This comprises the collective knowledge of our academics and the life experiences and skills gained through your time as a student, whether online or on campus, in class or through co-curricular activities.
