Timetabling Assistance form
You can request assistance if you experience a timetabling issue or you need a specific class.
The Timetabling Assistance form can only be used after the review and adjust period opens for your study period. Check the timetable dates. Please note: all timetabling enquiries, including TAF’s are managed by the faculty and require processing time.
Request types and requirements
You can submit a Timetabling assistance form to request help with the following. Select a category to view any supporting documentation requirements.

No classes available
If you've followed the advice about what to do if all classes are full but are still unable to allocate to classes, you can submit a request under this category. Please keep your swap requests open while waiting for a Timetabling assistance form outcome in case places become available.
Supporting documentation:
No supporting documentation is required, however you will need to provide details on the class(es) that you want to add to your timetable.

Mandatory classes in core subjects clashing
This option should only be used where clashing subjects are core on your study plan.
Supporting documentation:
No supporting documentation is required; however if you are requesting to swap to a full class/classes to avoid this clash, please specify the class time(s) need.

Clash with another class
Use this category if:
- You have a clash with a VCE or IB school subject that cannot be changed by a swap.
- You've followed the advice about what to do if your classes clash but are still unable to allocate to clash-free classes, you can submit a request under this category.
Required supporting documentation:
No supporting documentation is required; however you will need to provide details on the class you are allocated to and the class you want to add to your timetable.

Academic Adjustment Plan or health-related reason
Use this category if you are registered for ongoing support and priority timetabling is specified in your Academic Adjustment Plan.
Required supporting documentation:
You will need to provide your Academic Adjustment Plan with the details of your priority timetabling requirements.

Clash with employment
Use this category to request a specific class to fit around your employment commitments. Requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and cannot be guaranteed.
Required supporting documentation:
You will need to provide a letter from your employer that includes:
- Employer's letter head and contact details
- Details of your work commitments, including what days and times you work.

Conflict with religious observances
Use this category to request a specific class/classes that fit around your religious or cultural observance.
Required supporting documentation:
You will need to provide a signed letter on the official letterhead of your religious congregation or cultural authority outlining:
- The nature of your observances and
- What days and times you are unavailable to attend classes.

Personal circumstances
Use this category to:
- Request a specific class/classes that fit around your personal circumstances
- If you have grouped classes (sectioned or activity combinations) with a 'problem' status, you can request allocation to a class in a different group
- Request allocation to classes if you enrolled in a subject after timetabling closed.
Required supporting documentation:
Depending on your circumstances, you may need to provide:
- A letter explaining your commitment outside of your studies for consideration by your subject's faculty or school
- A letter outlining the compelling circumstances that prevented you from finalising your timetable by the deadline.

Request to change to online class
Required supporting documentation:
You will need to provide a document outlining why you need to move to an online class and specify the class time(s) need/prefer.
Submit a Timetabling assistance form
How to use the form
- Log into the Timetabling Assistance Form.
- Click the '+Create Support Case' button.
- Ensure that the ‘Request Type’ is showing 'Timetabling Assistance Request' or select it manually from the drop-down.
- Select the relevant issue type.
- Select the affected subject and/or the subject you need assistance with from the drop-down list. This will only display all currently enrolled subjects.
- Specify the affected class type into the text field (eg Tutorial, Lecture, Seminar, Lab). If your issue type is ‘Clash with Another Class’ or ‘Mandatory Classes in Core Subjects Clashing’, you will need to select the clashing subject from the drop-down and type the ‘Clashing Class Type’.
- Add a request description to explain the issue you're experiencing and what outcome you are requesting.
- If applicable, upload supporting documents by clicking the 'Upload Files' button or dropping files into the field. Once you have uploaded your file, click the blue ‘Done’ button.
- Click 'Create Support Case' to submit your request. Your request will be allocated a Case Number and a progress status.
