Pre–exam day checklist (off-campus digital open-book)

Steps to take either the night before or the day of your exam.

1 Plan your day
  1. Double-check your exam timetable to confirm your exam details.
  2. Plan when you will complete the steps below to ensure you are ready in time to start your exam.

2 Get yourself ready
  1. Prioritise self-care such as resting and eating a healthy meal before your exam. If you are feeling worried, try these strategies to manage exam anxiety
  2. Assess if you are well enough to sit your exam. Check if you are eligible to apply for Special Consideration.

3 Check your exam space is ready
  1. Prepare your study area. At minimum you will need a desk and chair in a well-lit space with sufficient room to work on your laptop.
  2. Limit interruptions and noise.
  3. Book a space if you are planning to sit your exam on campus.
  4. If you are travelling to a study space, plan your route and allow plenty of time to get to your location before your exam start time.

4 Set out your exam materials
  1. Check your assessment requirements on your LMS subject site for any subject-specific instructions (eg open book or permitted textbooks).
  2. Refer to your exam format page and for permitted materials and set out the items you will use during your exams.
  3. Remove any unpermitted materials.
  4. If you are travelling to a study space, ensure you pack everything you need.

5 Set up your computer equipment
  1. Make sure all of the equipment you need to complete your exam is fully charged and working.
  2. Connect to a power source where possible.
  3. Log into the LMS and ensure multi-factor authentication is working.
  4. Check if you have a stable internet connection. If you are using a study space on campus, connect to UniWireless.
  5. Use a compatible internet browser. For optimal performance, please use the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, Safari or Microsoft Edge.
