James and Cox

James & Cox is an improvisational guitar duo comprised of guitarists Noah James (Churches) and Sophie Cox. Rehearsing weekly, our repertoire includes a mix of classic jazz standards, original compositions and free improvisations. Our musical influences include Sonny Rollins, Jim Hall, Julian Lage and Bill Evans. Drawing on our shared knowledge and passion for the guitar, we collaboratively explore the instrument through improvisation to create music that is playful and engaging for the listener.
