Step 5: You're ready to study
Congratulations on completing your enrolment at the University of Melbourne! Before you start studying online, finalise your transition by completing the steps below.

Apply for your student card
If you would like a student card, please follow the instructions on the student card page.
Library access for online students
You automatically have a membership with the library as a student of the University. As part of your library membership you get access to electronic resources, including databases, e-journals, full-text articles and e-books by using our search tool, Discovery.
If you live in Melbourne, you can borrow books from the University library with your student card.
If you don‘t live in Melbourne, you may be able to borrow library books from your local university library.
Checking your student emails
You will need to check your University emails at least twice per week, including during University breaks or leave periods. Access your email through your my.unimelb account. It is also possible to forward your student emails to your personal email account. For more information on student email, please visit the rules for student email FAQ.
