Step 1: Accept your offer
Thanks for deciding to study with us! Follow these steps to accept your offer.
How to accept your offer
You'll need to complete all the steps below to accept your offer.
- Step one
-
Arrange your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
Maintaining private health insurance while in Australia is a visa condition for international students.
- Step two
-
Check your scholarship requirements (if applicable)
If you have a scholarship, confirm your deposit requirements and provide proof of your scholarship.
- Step three
-
Complete your Agreement and pay your deposit
The Student Acceptance and Payment Agreement is a contract between you and the University. It includes the payment instructions and details you’ll need to pay your tuition fee deposit (and OSHC if required).
Choose your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
Bupa is the University of Melbourne’s preferred Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) insurance provider, offering a policy that is designed for international students.
You will benefit from having a Bupa representative on campus to answer your health cover questions.
The policy is approved by the Department of Home Affairs and can be the most convenient option for students.
Review the Bupa OSHC policy details to check whether it's right for you.
How to arrange this cover with us
- Add the premium amount listed in your offer letter to your tuition fee deposit.
- Pay the combined premium and tuition fee amount using one of the tuition fee payment methods in your Agreement.
- Indicate on your Agreement form that you'd like the University to arrange a visa-length OSHC policy for you.
Steps for scholarship recipients
-
Check what your scholarship covers and if you need to pay a deposit.
Full scholarship including OSHC
If you’ve received a scholarship that covers the full amount of your course tuition fees and OSHC, you are not required to pay the fee deposit or any OSHC payment.
Full scholarship without OSHC
If your OSHC is not covered by your scholarship or the funds to purchase OSHC are paid by the sponsor to you directly, you must either pay for the university to arrange your OSHC with Bupa or arrange your own OSHC.
Partial scholarship
If your course tuition fees are not fully covered by the scholarship you will still need to pay a deposit.
-
You’ll need to get a letter from your scholarship provider.
The letter must be addressed to the University of Melbourne detailing the following:
- Name of student covered
- The courses the tuition fees cover, including start and end dates
- Whether OSHC is covered, including start and end dates
- Invoicing address.
Attach this letter as evidence of your scholarship when you complete your Agreement.
Complete your Student Acceptance and Payment Agreement
Please ensure you read the Agreement carefully prior to accepting it.
When completing your Agreement you will need to attach digital copies of the following:
- Evidence of your Overseas Student Health Cover premium (OSHC)
