After you arrive
Learn about your entitlements, responsibilities, and key aspects of managing your scholarship.
Establishment allowance and stipend
After you arrive in Australia, make an appointment to open a bank account with your preferred provider and submit your bank details via my.unimelb. Do not email your bank details.
Your establishment allowance is usually paid within three working days after you have submitted your bank details, and your stipend will be paid in line with the University’s fortnightly pay days.
Arrival briefing
You will be invited to attend an on-campus arrival briefing. This is an opportunity to receive important information about your scholarship, meet the Australia Awards Student Contact Officers and connect with other scholars.
The arrival briefing for awardees starting mid-year 2026 will be held on 15 June 2026.
