Understand what you need to do for each study period to create your class timetable.
Class timetable dates by study period
Check your subject’s study period in the Handbook and then select the relevant study period below for key dates.

Planning period
- Plan your class timetable
- Between Tuesday 11 November and 10am (AEDT) Tuesday 25 November.
Preference period
- Select and submit your class timetable preferences
- Between 10am (AEDT), Tuesday 25 November and submit them before 8am (AEDT), Monday 8 December.
Class timetable creation
- MyTimetable is unavailable
- Wait for your class timetable to be created by the timetable team
- Between 8:00am (AEDT), Monday 8 December until 10am (AEDT), Friday 12 December.
Review period
- Review your class timetable and adjust classes if needed
- Refer to your subject information in MyTimetable for closing time
- From 10:00am (AEDT), Friday 12 December.

- Wait for your class timetable to be created by the timetable team
- From 8.00am (AEDT), Monday 9 February until 10.00am (AEDT), Tuesday 17 February.
Review period
- Review your class timetable and adjust classes if needed
- Refer to your subject information in MyTimetable for closing time
- Please note: Some subjects might close early based on faculty needs
- Intensive subjects MAR, MAY, APR, and YRL all have different start and end dates and are managed by the faculty
- Check your timetable regularly during the review and adjust period
- Once a subject is closed, any requests for a timetabling change will need to be submitted through a timetabling assistance form
- From 10.00am (AEDT), Tuesday 17 February until 10.00am (AEDT), Friday 20 March.

Yearly class timetable dates
Each November, the timetable for the year ahead is published via the Handbook and MyTimetable.
- The 2026 timetable is now available for the full year
- Once published, the timetable will continue to be finalised for some subjects
- If you have November and December classes, you can still access the 2025 timetable in MyTimetable until the end of your study period.
Please note:
- Melbourne Medical School does not use MyTimetable. Your school will handle the timetable process.
- Melbourne Business School does not use MyTimetable. For class scheduling, check your Student Community page on Canvas.
