What made you want to become a Student Peer Leader?

I’m passionate about creating an environment where students feel valued and supported. I believe that genuine connection is key for students to thrive, especially when navigating the challenges of university life. By offering encouragement and guidance, I hope to empower students to pursue their aspirations with confidence and know that they’re not alone on their journey.

What’s one moment as a peer leader that made you realise the impact of the role?

A moment that made me realise the impact of the role was supporting students through the Job Application Drop-In and Global Learning applications. Many students initially felt overwhelmed or uncertain about how to approach the application process or whether they were capable of pursuing these opportunities at all. Being able to encourage and support them throughout the process showed me how meaningful peer support can be in helping bridge gaps, build confidence, and make opportunities feel more accessible to students who may not have otherwise pursued them.

In one sentence, what would you say to a student thinking about using SPLN services?
