How to find your classroom
Finding your way around campus can be overwhelming at times, here are some great tools to help you find your classroom.
Steps to find your classroom
Using the location link in your timetable
You can find your classroom using the new location link in your timetable.
- Log into MyTimetable
- View your allocated classes on the Timetable tab
- Click 'View More' and look for the location details
- Click the location link
- A map will show your class location.
Please note: For online and off campus classes you need to check the LMS for your location details. Then follow the guide on using maps.unimelb below.
Using maps.unimelb
- View your allocated classes on the Timetable tab
- Click 'View More' and look for the location details (including Campus)
- Copy the location code
- Go to maps.unimelb
- Paste the location code into the Quick Search function
- For example: PAR-104-L1-101-Collaborative Learning Space
- Do not include extra information such as the room space, dates and paste it into the Quick Search function
- Click the relevant location from the search results
- To see the street address and other building details, click the building name hyperlink
- Using maps.unimelb to search for the building first
- Type in ‘building’ and the building number into the search box
- For example: ‘building 104’
- The building will appear listed at the top in capital letters and the building number in brackets
- For example: ALAN GILBERT BUILDING, (ALAN GILBERT BUILDING (BUILDING 104))
- You can then zoom in to find the location of your class.
The location code lists the information in the following order:
PAR-104-L1-101-Collaborative Learning Space (30)

| 104 | Building number | Building 104 is the Alan Gilbert Building |
| L1 | Floor level | Level 1 |
| 101 | Room number | 101 |
| Collaborative Learning Space | Room name | Collaborative learning space |
| 30 | Room space | Not required for searching |
