Late re-enrolment fee
Re-enrolling after the timely re-enrolment period has ended can result in late fees and sanctions on your record.
What is a late re-enrolment fee?
If you re-enrol after the timely re-enrolment period has ended, you may be charged a fee of $140.
If you are late to re-enrol:
- A sanction will appear on your record, and
- A late fee (if charged) will be added to your invoice.
How do I pay the late re-enrolment fee?
Your Statement of Liability lists the instructions for payment methods. To see your Statement of Liability, visit the fee Information page in my.unimelb.
If you have overdue fees owing to the University you will not be able to enrol, graduate or see your results. This will be indicated by a sanction in my.unimelb.
If you have difficulty paying the late re-enrolment fee, you can contact Financial Aid. Once you are enrolled in subjects, interest free student loans are available. Please see the Financial Aid website for details.
Can I get the late re-enrolment fee waived?
You can apply to have your late fee waived if you were unable to re-enrol during the re-enrolment period due to serious or unexpected circumstances outside of your control.
-
The late re-enrolment fee may be waived if you can show that either:
- You contacted the University about your enrolment during the re-enrolment period; or
- Serious or unexpected circumstances prevented you from completing your enrolment or contacting the University about your enrolment during the re-enrolment period. This may refer to:
- Health (including mental health)
- Certain family commitments
- Changes in work
- Any circumstances (or combination of circumstances) that had a significant impact.
Your enrolment declaration outlines your enrolment requirements and student obligations. This includes enrolling or re-enrolling on time. If you can’t enrol, you must contact the University during the timely re-enrolment period, unless serious circumstances prevent you from doing so. Not contacting us, or not knowing your requirements, isn’t a valid reason for a fee waiver.
-
The deadline to apply for the fee waiver is 30 June 2026.
Apply using this form. Explain what stopped you from enrolling and/or contacting the University during the timely re-enrolment period. Ensure you include the specific dates of impact.
