Student Feedback Group

What is the Student Feedback Group?

The Student Feedback Group is a group of students who register interest in taking part in activities where they share their opinions and experiences on different aspects of University life. As a thank you, students receive gift vouchers.

What activities can you expect?

  • Workshops which bring together a large group of up to 20 students and sometimes staff to explore a problem together and ideate solutions.
  • Focus groups which bring together group of up to 12 students who participate in a guided discussion with a facilitator.
  • One to one interviews that capture a deep understanding of a single student’s experience of a process or response to a question.
  • Online surveys that capture feedback about your experiences, needs and how we can improve the student experience at the University of Melbourne.

Activity types depend on the questions to solve or solutions to design and you can expect invitations to surveys, workshops and interviews. There will be a mix of online and in-person sessions. We will contact you via email to invite you to participate in an activity. Participation is always voluntary.

Benefits

You’ll be sharing your voice to improve the student experience and as a thank you will receive a financial incentive. Indicative incentive schedule:

  • 45 minute Zoom interview $40 gift voucher
  • 90 minute Zoom workshop $80 gift voucher

Every invitation you receive will include clear communication of the incentive you’ll earn for that activity.

Is this the same as the Melbourne Student Forum?

No. While both the Melbourne Student Forum and the Student Feedback Group are opportunities for students to share their ideas and inform the Student Experience, Melbourne Student Forum delegates participate in forums at regular intervals through the year where they suggest and vote for topics they would like to discuss. The number of delegates is capped and delegates receive training and Melbourne Plus digital credentials as a thank you for engagement.

The Student Feedback Group is uncapped. The number and type of activities is based on the questions the University wants to solve. Members receive incentives – in giftpay vouchers – as a thank you for their time.
