Christian Union (CU) is a large, inter-denominational student group dedicated to knowing and obeying Jesus Christ and making him known.
CU is for Christians who want to grow in the way they understand and live out their faith in Jesus; and for people who aren't Christian believers who want to check out Jesus' claims without being hassled or pressured.

University of Melbourne Musallah
The Islamic Prayer Space (Musallah) is on the corner of Pelham and Leicester Street.
The entrance to both the brothers and sisters Prayer Space is via Little Pelham Street. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from the Parkville campus student precinct. Dedicated ablution (wudhu) facilities are available on-site for both brothers and sisters.
All five daily prayers, as well as Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan, are conducted here; you can check the daily prayer times to see current iqamah schedules.
For students who do not have access, please fill out the Student card access assistance form. For PhD students or staff who do not have access, please fill out the Staff Facilities (Access Request) form. Access will be programmed within 24 hours.
Friday Prayers (Jummah Prayer)
Friday prayers are held weekly in the Islamic Prayer Space.
To accommodate the community during teaching periods, sessions are split into two groups. Outside of semesters, only a single session is held.
- During Semesters (Standard Time): 12.15–12.45pm and 1.30–2.00pm
(First Sunday in April to the first Sunday in October) - During Semesters (Daylight Savings): 1.15–1.45pm and 2.30–3.00pm
(From the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April) - Winter Break: 12.30–1:00pm
- Summer Break: 1:30–2:00pm
Usage Guidelines
The Musallah is a shared, sacred space. Please help maintain its safety, cleanliness, and tranquility by observing the following community guidelines:
- All users granted access must swipe their individual cards upon entry.
- Access is strictly limited to registered University of Melbourne staff and students. For safety and security compliance, please do not bring external visitors who are unregistered or unaffiliated with the university.
- The Musallah is cleaned daily in the mornings between prayer times.
- The space is shared by a diverse community. Please treat the Musallah with the utmost respect and keep it in good order as a dedicated house of worship.
- The Islamic Chaplain can be contacted directly via the Chaplaincy contact page.
If there are any issues with the facility requiring maintenance you can log an issue through the Snap, Send, Solve app or please contact the Director – Wellbeing Services at dir-wellbeingservice@unimelb.edu.au.
Islamic Society
The University of Melbourne Islamic Society (UMIS) supports Muslim students on campus, manages community networks, and runs regular educational and social events.
