Testamur

A testamur is also known as your official graduation certificate, parchment or diploma, and is posted to you after your conferral.

Testamur (also known as graduation certificate, parchment, diploma)

A testamur is your official graduation certificate confirming you have completed your course at the University of Melbourne. You will receive your hard copy testamur after your degree has been conferred – it will be posted to you after your conferral date.

Testamurs are posted to your preferred address 6-8 weeks after your conferral date. You will receive tracking details when these are sent. Please continue to monitor your tracking details to make sure you are available to collect the testamur when it arrives.

Return to Sender

If your testamur is ultimately undeliverable, it should be returned to the University. Please contact the Graduations Office and we will organise for it to be reposted to you.

You must collect or request a repost within 12 months of your conferral date. If it has been over 12 months, you will need to order a replacement testamur. The Graduations office will not hold testamurs beyond this time.

Physical Replacement

$250 for replacement fee applies for:

  • Name changes
  • Lost certificates, or
  • Damaged certificates (unless caused by natural disasters)
  • Uncollected testamurs 12 months post conferral date.

Digital Replacement

$75 fee for a digital only replacement testamur.

The MyEquals Digital Testamur service was introduced in 2018.

Students whose degrees were conferred prior to 2018 may wish to purchase a Digital Testamur to take advantage of the features of MyEquals.

Note: Students whose degrees were conferred after 2018 do not need to order this product.
