University of Melbourne Overseas Subject (UMOS) are single subjects offered by our faculties which are taught overseas.
Study a single subject overseas
The University of Melbourne has an increasing number of single subjects available in different faculties which are partly or wholly taught overseas.
If the degree you are enrolled in makes it difficult to study overseas, or if you are just not sure about undertaking a semester abroad, you could be eligible to undertake one or more UMOS as part of a major or as a breadth subject.
To find out more about the UMOS opportunities that are available to you, contact your faculty or search the University Handbook.
The University of Melbourne offers a wide range of scholarships to support students to study overseas. Melbourne Mobility Awards provide funding to eligible students undertaking overseas study as part of their degree. Find out more and apply at Scholarships.
The process for enrolling in each subject is outlined on the subject page in the University Handbook.
You are required to register your travel prior to your departure from Melbourne via the travel insurance registration portal. Through this portal you can also opt in for the University’s free travel insurance.
