Setting up your student account
There are three steps to setting up your University of Melbourne student account.
- Step one Create
-
Create your account with your key details
- Full name: Use all given names and family name as provided in your application.
- Student ID number: Found in your offer letter.
- Date of birth: Use the format DD/MM/YYYY.
- Postcode: This should match your 'preferred' address on your course/degree application or current student record. If unsure, contact Stop 1 for assistance.
- Step two Verify
-
Verify your account with the link sent to your email
Finalise your University account using the unique verification link sent to your personal email (the address used on your application).
The system email contains your username, student ID and the verification link, which expires 60 minutes after delivery. If it expires, use the link above to re-enter your details and request a new verification email.
- Step three Protect
-
Protect your account with Okta Verify
Okta Verify is a multi-factor authentication (MFA) application which verifies your identity when you log in to University of Melbourne platforms and systems. This extra layer of security protects your account from unauthorised access.
If you’re having trouble setting up Okta Verify, Student IT can help.
