Pre–exam day checklist (on-campus exams)
The night before your exam
- 1
-
Check your exam timetable; check the format, date, time, venue and your seat number. Read over how your exam will run.
- 2
-
Ensure you know what to bring and are set up for your specific exam format. If you are sitting an on-campus digital exam, make sure you have completed your laptop preparation.
- 3
-
You will also need to ensure you remember your University logins, as you will need to log in to the LMS and won’t be able to use a password manager.
- 4
-
Plan how you will get to your exam venue; allow enough time to arrive early. Use PTV journey planner if travelling via public transport.
- 5
-
Limit your revision; last-minute cramming is generally ineffective. If you’d like to reassure yourself of your knowledge, try looking over lecture notes, essay plans or reviewing memory aids you may have developed.
- 6
-
Pack your bag; only bring permitted items and other essential items and remember to take your student card, phone and pen.
- 7
-
Prioritise self-care; rest and eat a healthy meal before your exam. If you are feeling worried, try these strategies to manage exam anxiety.
The day of your exam
- 1
-
Allow plenty of time to get ready and plan for delays.
- 2
-
Consider what to wear; some venues can be quite cold or warm.
- 3
-
Take your bag and student card.
- 4
-
Arrive early to your exam venue.
- 5
-
Follow the COVIDSafe guidelines.
