Step 4: Enrol in your subjects

Once you have decided which subjects to take, you will need to enrol in them via your my.unimelb account.

How do I enrol in subjects?

When enrolling into subjects for the first time, it’s important that you enrol into subjects for the entire academic year. Have your subject options from the Handbook in front of you when enrolling so you can see the course structure.

For more information check out How to enrol in a subject and use the study plan.

Tips for enrolling in subjects

  1. Check the census dates: The subject census date is the date by which you can make changes to subjects you are enrolled in without incurring a fee. Census dates are different for each subject. You can review census dates by checking the subject entry in the Handbook.
  2. Enrol in subjects for the whole year: This will ensure that you are ready to study for all study periods. If you change your mind later on, that's okay. You will be able to make changes before the census dates via your my.unimelb account.
  3. Check your subject's delivery mode: Some subjects are taught online, or campus-based (in person), or dual-delivery (a combination of online and campus-based). You can find the delivery mode for your subjects in the subject listing of the Handbook.
