Step 5: You're ready to study

Congratulations on completing your enrolment at the University of Melbourne! Before you start studying, finalise your transition by completing the steps below.

Confirm your enrolment

Not sure if you've completed your course enrolment? Log in to your my.unimelb account to check your personal and enrolment details. If you require assistance, visit the how do I check if I have completed my enrolment? FAQ.

Class timetabling

As a professional development student, you won’t be required to use MyTimetable to create your class timetable. All you need to do is access your subject content on the LMS or attend your scheduled classes and you’re good to go. Information about accessing the LMS can be found on the Access to Canvas LMS website.

Apply for your student card

If you would like a student card, please follow the instructions on the student card page.

Library access for online students

If you live in Melbourne, you can borrow books from the University library with your student card.

If you do not live in Melbourne, you may be able to borrow library books from your local university library.

Checking your student emails

You will need to check your University emails at least twice per week, including during University breaks or leave periods. Access your email through your my.unimelb account. It is also possible to forward your student emails to your personal email account. For more information on student email, please visit the rules for student email FAQ.

Juggling work, family and study

Balancing work and family alongside study can be as challenging as it can be rewarding. See our Academic Skills section for tips on time management, academic writing skills, research skills and other helpful topics.
