Types of assessment adjustment reviews and request process.
Review of an assessment adjustment decision
You can request a review if you disagree with a decision made on your special consideration or extension application.
You can request a review if you believe:
- Important facts, evidence or circumstances were not properly considered
- Relevant policies or procedures were not followed
- You experienced unfair treatment, prejudice or bias.
Types of reviews
There are two stages of application processing:
- Eligibility. This is where we check your documents to determine if you qualify.
- Outcome. This is where we decide what adjustment(s) to offer for each impacted assessment.
You can request a review if you disagree with the decision made at either stage.
Review request deadline
You must request a review:
- Within five business days of receiving your application outcome, and
- Before your subject result is finalised.
How to request a review
- Login to the application portal
- Select the application from the 'Active Applications' section
- Select 'Request Review'
- Select the assessment items you would like to review a decision for
- Specific your grounds for seeking a review
- Upload supporting evidence (if applicable).
What happens after you submit
- Decision provided

We will notify you when your request has been completed.
- Request a review

You can only request one review per decision. Submit your request within five business days of receiving your notification.
- Review processed

We assess requests following the Assessment and Results Policy.
- Review finalised

We’ll notify you within five business days with the outcome of your review.
Tracking a review request
You can track your review request in the application portal. You will see one of the following statuses for your review type.

- Review Submitted: A review request has been submitted
- Review In Progress: A review request is being processed
- Review Under Investigation: A staff member requires further information to review your request
- Review Request Denied: Your request for a review has missed the deadline
- Request Complete: Your ineligibility decision has been overturned and an adjustment has been provided
- Review upheld: The ineligibility decision has been reviewed and the decision has not changed.

- Review Submitted: A review request has been submitted
- Review In Progress: A review request is being processed
- Review Under Investigation: A staff member requires further information to review your request
- Review Request Denied: Your request for a review has missed the deadline
- Review upheld: The original adjustment has been reviewed and the decision has not changed.
- Review overturned: The prior adjustment has been reviewed and a new adjustment has been provided.
Review decision
After your review request has been processed, you will receive one of the following review decisions.

- Eligibility changed: Your application has changed from ineligible to eligible. We will notify you once we've decided what adjustment(s) to offer.
- Outcome changed: Your faculty or school has changed your outcome.

The review confirmed the original decision was the most appropriate for your circumstances and documentation. There is no change to your eligibility or outcome.
