About refunds
If you’ve paid fees that you no longer owe, you may receive a credit on your student account. You can use this credit to pay future fees or apply for a refund.
This process applies to tuition fees and the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
If you’re seeking a refund of your tuition fee deposit as a commencing international fee-paying student, see how to apply for a deposit refund.
Before applying, make sure:
- You have a credit on your Fee Account Statement
- You've paid any other outstanding debts to the University (such as library fines or student loan fees)
- If applicable, your enrolment change is complete.

Refund outcomes
How long do refunds take?
After you submit your application, you'll receive an automated email confirming we've received it.
Refunds are usually processed within 10–15 business days of receiving your application.
Where will my refund be paid to?
We'll refund your payment using the most appropriate method:
- If you paid by credit card, we'll refund the original card where possible.
- If you paid another way, we'll pay the refund by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or telegraphic transfer to the bank account you provide on your refund application.
Refunds are paid in Australian dollars unless international banking requirements state otherwise.
