Student Pavilion
The Student Pavilion, the first new building as part of the Student Precinct Project, is located on Monash Road just off Swanston Street and is a home away from home for students.
Designed as a ‘neighbourhood hangout’, the Pavilion boasts a rooftop terrace, featuring an Indigenous kitchen garden and robotic farmers, as well as an impressive student kitchen that can double as an event space and opens out to sweeping views of campus and the striking Student Art Prize
The Student Pavilion also intertwines the new with the old – the brickwork figures adorned on the Alice Hoy building (1957-2019) that formerly occupied the site are reproduced within the building featuring symbols for knowledge and learning.
There’s also a range of exciting new food and retail options to check out in the Student Pavilion:
- Level 1 Food Hall: Roll’d offer the flavoursome streets of Vietnam and Moonfishh serve a full sensory sushi experience. There’s also local, seasonal Italian from Passeggiata, as well as fresh juices and salads from Superfragalistic.
- Level 4: Journeys Cafe, an Asylum Seeker Resource Centre not-for-profit training cafe for refugees and people seeking asylum, offer low-cost, low-impact fare.
