Furniture Feedback Exhibition

We know that no two spaces are used in the same way, and that the right furniture can make all the difference in creating a comfortable, accessible place to relax, study and hang out with friends. That is why we wanted to hear from the University of Melbourne Community as to what furniture they would enjoy in the Precinct.

Our furniture installation ran from 8 - 22 August in the Dulux Gallery, at the Melbourne School of Design on the Parkville Campus. We were proud to showcase several pieces of innovative furniture for consideration in the New Student Precinct, including indoor study desks, outdoor seating and collaborative work spaces.

Upwards of 1,000 students, staff and community members visited the exhibition. Visitors were invited to take part in a survey of the furniture on display, asking them what they like, what they don't like that what they want in furniture on campus.

We were thrilled to have our team of student ambassadors on the ground, fielding questions and gathering survey feedback, as well as giving away coffee vouchers to lucky attendees every day.

The project team are analysing the feedback given throughout the exhibition to learn more about what furniture our community would like in the New Student Precinct. This feedback will be given directly to subject matter experts and will inform the selection of furniture in the Precinct.
